English 11 Students continue to use Regents review books in preparation for the exam.
        
The exam is on Tuesday June 11 at 9 AM.

An assignment was handed out from the review book that is due when they return from break.on Wed. the 29th.

A schedule for review claases was also handed out and will be posted on the school's website as well.

English 12

Seniors are completing their course work for graduation.
Senior exams begin May 16th;    the English exam is Thurs. May 16th at 9 AM

English 11

Students are engaged in reading the novel The Scarlet Letter; they have been asked to read through chapter 16 for Monday the 22nd.

A vocabulary quiz was given on Wed. the 17th;

A full period essay test will be taken on Friday the 19th on chapters 1-13.

A short research project/paper was assigned on the 12th.
The final paper is to be 2-3 pages in length, and include a works cited page and parenthetical citations.

-The process of performing research and using MLA style to construct the paper continues to be a part of  weekly instruction..

- A preliminary bibliography was due Wednesday the 17th
- A thesis statement is due Friday the 19th
- A rough draft is due Thurs. the 25th

Note: the three above assignments equal one quiz score.

The final copy of the paper is due Thursday May 2nd.

AP English

Students continue to complete the coures work in preparation for the AP exam on Thursday May 9th.

A research paper was assigned several weeks ago and is due on May 3rd.

The fourth quarter begins NOW, especially for seniors this is important.

AP English

Begin reading Wuthering Heights through page 66.
Complete/review the packet on Literry Criticism.
Begin performing research for your paper.
Begin the six week program in preparation for the AP exam.

English 12

Preview literary analysis/reading strategies 758; romantic period and gothic literature.

From text, access E-text from home, closely read pages 759-764, Mary Shelley's biographical information and the author's introduction to the novel Frankenstein. Pay particular attention to the historical context of the work.

Review/respond/apply literary analysis 765;1,2,5,8

English 11

Read from the novel The Scarlet Letter chapters 6-11.

Before reading the chapters, read the preview questions for each chapter (handout).

As a way to engage the text, respond to the chapter questions as you read.
